Hi! Rippit the Ogg Frog here.

In the Free Software community a "HOWTO" is an article that explains how to do something with Free Software. Sometimes you can't figure out how to use a piece of software to accomplish your goal just by reading its manual, maybe because you need to use several different programs together to get the job done.

Ogg Frog's Digital Music How To Articles is a new section of my site devoted to helping you rip, burn and encode your music CDs, as well as other kinds of digital music. There's lots of Free Software available to help you, but I'm afraid Rippit has found some of its instructions to be clear as mud.

I'm kicking off my new section today by explaining why, sometimes, the CDs that you burn won't play. It's a common and frustrating problem, but it's not hard to diagnose if you know what to look for.
